  2. Domaine de la Motte Chablis Premier Cru Beauroy on a Luxury Wooden Château Box

Domaine de la Motte Chablis Premier Cru Beauroy on a Luxury Wooden Château Box

    £37.45

This wine is a rich, deftly-oaked Chablis. La Motte's wine is quite rich and rounded with hints of grilled almonds, gentle toasty oak, buttery fruit then classic mineral tones and balancing acidity on the finish. Bernard Michaut's winery is small but perfectly formed. Following a 1m euro investment 5 years ago the winery is now fulfilling their dreams of producing top-flight Chablis. The lime-rich soil of the area suits Chardonnay very welland naturally limits yields to an absolute maximum of 50 hectolitres per hectare as well as imparting distinctive mineral characters to the wines. The grapes are sourced only from this 'Premier Cru' site. The grapes are hand-harvested and pressed gently. 35% is fermented in small oak barrels as this fuller -bodied wine benefits from more oak influence. It spends several months ageing on the yeast lees to add extra complexity. Food Recommendations Delicious with white fish in a creamy sauce or seafood. 4. d'Arenberg The Dead Arm Shiraz in a Luxury Wooden Château Gift Case

d'Arenberg The Dead Arm Shiraz in a Luxury Wooden Château Gift Case

    £49.99

This multi award winning wine. The Dead Arm Shiraz manages to balance focus and complexity superbly. It is aromatic, floral and there is a fascinating amount of intensity that draws you back. The nose is very aromatic, floral and youthful. The lavender floral notes along with plum and blackberries, pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg and hint of five spice. The opulent palate is rich and dense with staggering concentration. Rhubarb and deep earth add to the complexity. The chewy tannins are abundant and balanced by the fruit power. Building through the palate the tannins provide for a long vibrant savoury and spicy finish. d'Arenberg is one of the most significant wineries in McLaren Vale. Founded in 1912 by Joseph Osborn, fourth generation, Chester Osborn took over the reins as Chief Winemaker in 1984. The last decade has seen Chester develop a range of white wines every bit as individual and thrilling as the red Rhone varieties with which the company made its name. There is method to his madness (and his shirts!) and no one knows their soils and vines better than Chester. Chester works with individual parcels of fruit that display different flavour profiles that are influenced by the unique soil characteristics and meso-climates of the vineyards. Each parcel is picked and vinified separately to highlight the individual characters that contribute complexity to the final blend. Chester's philosophy is to make wines that have great fragrance, fruit palate texture and length. The finish of the wine must have a natural, fine balance of acidity and a complex structure of tannins. Food Recommendations:- Steaks,Roast Beef,Barbecued meats. Marlborough Cloud Factory Sauvigon Blanc in a Luxury Château Gift Box

    £25.95

Aromatic, fresh and immensely easy drinking. Perfumed with nettle & ripe tropical fruits which are evident on the palate too along with limey flavours and a rich minerality - classic Marlborough Sauvignon. The wine is sappy fresh, clean and immensely easy drinking. Cloud Factory is sourced from vineyards in each of the sub-regions of Marlborough - the Awatere, Waihopai and Wairau Valleys. These valleys have their own micro-climates and terroir which give a unique personality to the vineyards, grapes and finished wine. The wine is made by the irrepressible Australian winemaker Ant Moore who now has a cult following in New Zealand. Sourced from 3 vineyard sites between the Waihopai and Awatere Valleys. Grapes are picked and immediately pressed to tanks for clarification. Juice is transfered to tank for a long and cool fermentation to ensure maximum varietal extraction. 9. Le Riche Cabernet Sauvignon in a Luxury Silk Lined Box

Le Riche Cabernet Sauvignon in a Luxury Silk Lined Box

    £35.95

    Out of stock

The only blended wine from Etienne Le Riche with an expressive fruit-driven style. Typical red fruit aromas of plum and cherries are balanced with a touch of oak on the nose. On the palate this wine is hugely appealing with juicy mouth-filling flavours of red berries, plums and smoky hints balanced with a fine, soft tannic structure and rounded finish. Ideal paired with a meaty pasta dish and richer stews. Etienne Le Riche produces magnificently fine, structured and complex wines at his Jonkershoek Valley cellar. The wines are marked out by their elegant understated style with unusually fine grained tannins, a subtle oak integration and expertly sourced fruit. Although not aiming to be Bordeaux replicas, they do have much in common with the balance and poise sometimes found in top Margaux. Etienne produces only 5000 cases in true artisanal style, with reds fermented in small open top concrete vats and manual punch down of the cap for the gentlest possible extraction. He has become a true master of Cabernet making multi-award winning wines which are seriously good and rank amongst the very best Cabernets in South Africa. 10. The Black Shiraz in a Luxury Chateau Gift box

The Black Shiraz in a Luxury Chateau Gift box

    £25.95

The Black Shiraz is an extreme example of this style, deep colour, huge palate and high alcohol. The Black Shiraz upholds the tradition with strong blackberry and plum aromas over toast, vanilla and spice. The palate is full flavoured and intense with rich blackberry, plum, blueberry and spicy characters. The tannins are very ripe and dense giving great structure and length to the palate. Established by Bob & Cherie Berton in May 1996 with 75 acres of land at 450m above sea level on gently rolling hills in a sub-region of Eden Valley in South Australia, The superb Reserve Shiraz and Reserve Chardonnay wines are still sourced from this plot. In 2007 Bob purchased the Yenda winery in the heart of the Riverina. This state of the art facility has the capacity to process 10,000 tonnes, and allows Berton Vineyards to produce value for money wines which sit alongside his premium single vineyard offerings. All vines have been spur pruned. Vine age is varied. Vines are planted roughly 1.8m apart with 3.6m between the rows to allow machinery access. The trellis system is generally a single wire cordon. The Shiraz was sourced from premium areas across South Eastern Australia. Selecting only the darkest and flavoursome fruit The Black Shiraz was named because of the deep colour of the juice after crushing and the intensely dark flavours from the resulting wine.
