A deep, inviting crimson black with an intense cassis, plum & bramble nose. Rich, voluptuous & silky on the palate with creamy black fruits & a little savoury smokiness from oak. Signature notes of cracked black pepper& chocolate make this a crowd pleaser The Barossa region experienced above average rainfall throughout the growing season which lead to a shorter than average harvest. There were some standout parcels in the region producing high quality wines. The Fruit was harvested in March at full ripeness. The wine was made in 4 ton lots and was fermented on skins for a period of 5-6 days with pump-overs 4 times daily. At pressing the more astringent pressings fractions were separated off to maintain a soft well rounded palate, with small amounts of pressings blended back later to ensure a well structured wine, but without too much astringency.
