Description

New Zealand is famous for its Sauvignon Blanc and this is a great example of why. It has intense, crisp fruit flavours and aromas. It’s a deliciously refreshing wine. Bursting with gooseberry, asparagus and ripe melon. This really is a class act! Located across the road from a US government listening post, Spy Valley is one of New Zealand’s most acclaimed producers. The grapes that do all the hard work come from 360 hectares of estate vineyards in the lower Waihopai Valley and from select vineyard sites in Marlborough’s Wairau and Southern Valley regions. From there it’s up to Chief Winemaker, Paul Bourgeois, and a high-tech winery that wouldn’t look out of place in the background of well known spy’s adventures. As well as having full temperature controls in every room, as well as lots of other gadgets, it’s situated right in the middle of the estate, ensuring very sensitive handling of fruit before crushing. Like most Marlborough wineries, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc are Spy Valley specialties but winemaker Paul Bourgeois and his team also make a great range of aromatic whites including Riesling, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris. Food Recommendations:- Summer Salads,White Fish e.g Cod, Pollack, Dover Sole
