Description

A delicious and characterful dry white, from a very under-rated grape variety. A ripe, versatile and approachable dry white from western Sicily. Attractive aromatics of floral peach, tropical fruit and a hint of fennel. The rounded and gently honeyed flavours on the palate are balanced by lemony acidity. Catarratto is the most planted white grape in western Sicily, producing both Marsala and dry white wines. This wine is a blend of two components, one from near the town of Marsala, the other, from the Catarratto ‘Lucido’ clone, from hillside vineyards at 600m altitude near Alcamo. Gentle pressing, cool, slow fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks using selected yeasts. The wine was bottled young after a short period of ageing on fine lees in stainless steel. Food Recommendations:- Ideal as an aperitif or to accompany seafood, grilled fish, salads and cold white meats
