Description

A lightly honeyed, rounded and easy drinking version of the classic Italian white. A clean, dry white with an elegant and fruity bouquet and a subtle nuttiness. A lightly honeyed apricot nose with a palate of considerable minerality, flavours of lime marmalade, nuts and a generous palate weight. The Baroncini family have grown grapes at their historic San Gimignano estate in Tuscany since 1489. Today this dynamic and respected family-owned company, headed up by Bruna Baroncini, comprises 5 estates in different parts of Tuscany and is an excellent source of well-presented and authentic classics from ‘middle Italy’. Produced from a blend of local varieties cultivated in vineyards within the Orvieto Classico DOC zone. The vineyards are at 350 metres above sea level. Annual yields are limited to a maximum 70 hl/ha. The juice is separated from the skins and decanted to aerate the must and filter out any sediment. This is followed by temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel. Food Recommendations:- A great match with cold hors d’oeuvres, grilled fish, and pizzas.
